Free Event at the Skirball for Southern California Teachers

by Damon Huss

Constitutional Rights Foundation, Skirball Cultural Center, and the Southern California Social Science Association (SCSSA) are proud to bring you “Constitutional Legacy: Turning History into Action,” a free one-day professional development workshop at the Skirball Cultural Center on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This daylong workshop coincides with Creating the United States, an extensive new exhibition to illuminate our nation’s founding documents — the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights — and to make the study of these documents exciting and accessible to students.

The program features a tour of the Creating the United States exhibition; a workshop presentation by Dr. Craig Yirush, associate professor of history at UCLA; and a breakout session with free curricular materials from Constitutional Rights Foundation. Lunch will be provided.

Did I mention yet again that it’s free? Click here for the flyer or go to the Skirball’s web site. Register today at I hope to see you there!
